General rule

Last Mile Express is operated by UCHAAPKO INC (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Registered office: 190 Beebalm Cres, Nepean, ON, K2J 7G7. Legal inquiries: legal@lastmile.express. Website: https://lastmile.express.

Last Mile Express acts solely as an independent delivery contractor and logistics facilitator. We are not a common carrier, freight forwarder, insurer, warehouse operator, or bailee of goods beyond the limited custody necessarily incidental to performing an accepted delivery task. Unless required by mandatory law or expressly agreed in a signed written contract, we do not inspect, verify, warrant, or assume liability for the contents, legality, condition, value, fitness, temperature integrity, or accurate declaration of parcels tendered for delivery. Responsibility for contents, lawful packaging, accurate labelling, declared value, insurance, and compliance with all applicable laws rests entirely with the sender (and, where applicable, the consignee).

This Acceptable Use policy applies to all shipments, pickups, workspace accounts, and communications using our services. Violations may result in refusal, hold, return, destruction at your expense, account suspension, claim denial, reporting to authorities, and legal action. You remain liable for all related costs.

02

Sender duties

Before tendering any shipment, you must:

  • Accurately describe contents and declared value — omissions and under-declarations void liability protections you might otherwise claim.
  • Package items to withstand ordinary handling, vibration, stacking, and weather exposure in enclosed vehicles.
  • Comply with Transport Canada, TDG, Canada Post, provincial, and municipal rules.
  • Obtain required permits, licences, and recipient age verification for regulated goods.
  • Label fragile, perishable, or orientation-sensitive items clearly.
  • Ensure recipients can lawfully receive the goods at the stated address.
03

Prohibited items (non-exhaustive)

Do not tender for delivery any item that is illegal to possess, transport, or distribute, or that we reasonably determine is unsafe or unsuitable, including:

  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances without valid authorization, or drug paraphernalia.
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, or weapons unless pre-approved under strict written conditions.
  • Hazardous materials (TDG Class goods) without proper documentation, packaging, and approval.
  • Stolen property, counterfeit goods, or items infringing intellectual property.
  • Uninsured cash, bearer negotiable instruments, or precious metals beyond agreed declared limits.
  • Live animals (except as expressly agreed), human remains, organs, or biological hazards.
  • Offensive, obscene, or harassing materials tendered to threaten or harm.
  • Items that leak, emit strong odours, or are infested.
  • Parcels exceeding our size, weight, or vehicle capacity limits without arrangement.
  • Any item we reasonably believe may expose drivers, the public, or property to unreasonable risk.
04

Restricted items

Contact dispatch before pickup to confirm eligibility. Unapproved restricted items may be refused on arrival; related claims are denied.

The following may require prior written approval, enhanced packaging, declared value, supplemental fees, or proof of insurance:

  • Alcohol and cannabis (where legal) — age verification and provincial rules apply.
  • Lithium batteries, dry ice, and temperature-sensitive medical goods.
  • High-value electronics, jewellery, art, or confidential legal/medical records.
  • Prescription medications and pharmacy shipments — chain-of-custody procedures required.
  • Industrial chemicals, samples, or lab materials.
05

Inspection, refusal, and reporting

We do not routinely open packages and have no duty to inspect contents. We may inspect externally, X-ray where available, or refuse pickup/delivery if a shipment appears undeclared, mislabelled, unsafe, or non-compliant.

We may cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulators and may disclose shipment data as required by law. Costs of refusal, return, storage, quarantine, or disposal are charged to the sender and are immediately due.

06

Platform and account conduct

When using our website or workspace tools, you may not:

  • Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with service availability.
  • Harass staff, drivers, recipients, or other users.
  • Use our systems to plan or facilitate illegal activity.
  • Misrepresent identity, affiliation, or shipment contents.
  • Resell access to our platforms without written authorization.
07

Enforcement and indemnity

We may suspend or terminate service, retain evidence, deny claims, and pursue all available remedies for violations. You indemnify and hold harmless UCHAAPKO INC and its delivery partners for claims, fines, seizures, injuries, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from prohibited, restricted, undeclared, or improperly packaged contents you tender, and from your platform misuse.
