Scope
Last Mile Express is operated by UCHAAPKO INC (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Registered office: 190 Beebalm Cres, Nepean, ON, K2J 7G7. Legal inquiries: legal@lastmile.express. Website: https://lastmile.express.
This Shipping & Delivery Policy describes how we perform courier and last-mile services. It supplements our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use policy, and Claims policy. In case of conflict on operational procedures, this policy controls; on liability and disputes, the Terms and Claims policy control.
UCHAAPKO INC reserves the absolute right to accept, refuse, suspend, cancel, or rearrange any shipment, route, or engagement for any lawful reason, including safety, capacity, credit risk, weather, or suspected non-compliance. Acceptance of a parcel does not create common-carrier duties, strict liability, or any warranty of fitness, merchantability, or on-time performance beyond what is expressly stated in a signed written agreement.
Service areas and availability
Last Mile Express operates in published coverage zones (including Ottawa, the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, and surrounding regions within our stated radius). Same-day service requires booking before published cut-off times and driver availability. We do not guarantee capacity on any given day.
Remote, rural, or restricted-access locations may require additional time or fees. We may decline service outside coverage or where safety, legal, weather, or capacity constraints apply, without liability.
Booking and confirmation
Shipments may be booked via quote form, phone, email, or approved account channels. A booking is confirmed only when we acknowledge acceptance (written confirmation, dispatch assignment, or pickup completion). Unconfirmed requests create no obligation.
Recurring routes require a signed schedule or account agreement specifying frequency, windows, and pricing. We may adjust routes for efficiency without reducing your core service commitment under a signed SLA.
Packaging and labelling
Senders must package goods securely in suitable containers for road transport. We may refuse improperly packaged items. Each parcel must display legible pickup and delivery addresses, contact numbers, and any special handling instructions.
Inadequate packaging is a complete defence to damage claims. Temperature-controlled, fragile, or orientation-sensitive goods require disclosure and appropriate packaging; otherwise we accept no liability for resulting loss.
Pickup procedures
Parcels must be ready at the scheduled pickup time. Wait-time beyond a reasonable grace period (typically ten minutes unless otherwise agreed) may incur charges. You are responsible for bringing parcels to an accessible pickup point unless inside pickup is agreed in writing.
Drivers may scan, photograph, or count parcels at pickup as part of chain-of-custody procedures. Discrepancies between your manifest and physical count are resolved in favour of the driver’s documented count unless clear error is proven.
Delivery procedures
We deliver to the address and recipient specified by the sender. If a business is closed, we follow agreed instructions (leave with reception, secure location, or reattempt) or return the parcel at your expense.
Signature-required deliveries need an authorized person available. Age-restricted deliveries require valid ID where applicable; failure to provide ID may result in return to sender with charges due.
Safe drop (authority to leave) must be authorized in advance; risk transfers upon documented completion. We are not liable for theft after documented ATL drop-off.
Failed attempts and returns
Failed deliveries due to incorrect address, recipient refusal, inaccessible location, or unsafe conditions may incur reattempt or return fees. Storage beyond agreed hold periods may incur daily storage charges, after which we may dispose of abandoned goods and charge disposal costs.
Return-to-sender shipments are charged at applicable rates unless the failure was caused solely by our proven error.
Tracking and proof of delivery
Tracking status, GPS, SMS notifications, and portal updates are provided where available on an “as is” basis and may be delayed or incomplete without creating liability.
Proof of delivery records (photo, signature, timestamp, coordinates) are retained per our Privacy Policy and are conclusive evidence of delivery as stated in our Terms.
Special handling
White-glove, two-person, temperature-controlled, or high-security handling requires prior written approval and may affect pricing and liability limits. Without written approval, standard handling and standard liability caps apply.
Holidays and severe weather
Service may be modified, delayed, or suspended on statutory holidays or during severe weather, emergencies, or unsafe road conditions. We will communicate material disruptions through dispatch or account channels where practicable. No refunds are owed solely for weather or holiday delays unless a signed SLA expressly provides otherwise.
Subcontractors and partners
We may use independent delivery partners and subcontractors. Your remedies for loss or damage remain exclusively against us under the Claims policy and liability caps — not against individual drivers — except for intentional wrongdoing by a driver where law requires otherwise.
